Your artwork is the most important part of printing a tea towel. If the design is low in quality – chances are the finished print will be also.
If you are unsure about any part of our artwork requirements please send us the file to review.
Screen Printing Artwork
- Artwork must be supplied in vector format, CMYK colour mode
- Vector format files are commonly .eps, .ai, and true vector .pdf
- If you want us to screen print a specific colour, please advise the PMS colour code (from the PMS C – Coated – book). The water-based inks used will be matched as closely as possible, but, could still differ slightly.
- Ensure all fonts are converted to outlines for all text used. Otherwise, please send us a copy of the type font (TTF).
- Ensure all artwork is in spot (solid) colour(s), as gradients create too much of a print variation
- Tea towels are 50cm x 70cm, with a max print area of 41cm x 61cm (Can be extended to 43.5cm x 63.5cm if required, but this will incur an additional fee)
The most common vector programs include (Adobe Illustrator), (CorelDRAW), (Macromedia Freehand) and (Inkscape).
If you are doing an all-font design in a Word Processor (Like MS Word) save the file as a PDF and send it to us. In most cases, the PDF will retain the original details.
Vector is used in the printing industry as best practice. Vector graphics can be scaled indefinitely without losing quality. They have much smaller file sizes than pixel-based graphics.
We can redraw most designs into vector format, if required, for an additional cost.
DTG Digital printing
The best file for printing will be:
- 300 DPI resolution – at print size – that has a transparent background
- This is best in the file format .png, however, a .jpg will work also
- You can supply a vector file, which we can create the PNG from
- Tea towels are 50cm x 70cm, with a max print area of 41cm x 61cm (Can be extended to 43.5cm x 63.5cm if required, but this will incur an additional fee)
- Please note: DTG price is for standard ink coverage of less than 50%. You can send us the file for review
- DTG Digital Sampling is a great first step for a screen print run: exact colour matching is not possible due to the RGB colour mode environment for DTG Digital vs. MYCK colour mode for Screenprinting
